Hungary’s new chief needs to rejoin the ICC | DW News

Peter Magyar, Hungary’s incoming leader, plans to rejoin the International Criminal Court. Hungary is the sole European Union country that is leaving the tribunal, which prosecutes individuals accused of war crimes. Last year, Viktor Orban started the process to end Hungary’s membership of the Hague-based court and join the US, Russia and Israel amongst other countries that do not recognize the ICC.
