Artemis II ends ‘perfect mission’ in splashdown | DW News
The world followed their journey through space for ten days – and now the crew of NASA’s Artemis II are back on earth. The mission ended with a dramatic plunge through the atmosphere – which lasted nearly 15 minutes and reached speeds of over 30 times the speed of sound. The Orion capsule’s much-scrutinized heat shield held up and all four astronauts splashed into the Pacific Ocean in ‘green,’ or healthy, condition.
