‘Queer Eye ‘star Karamo Brown explained how losing his virginity to his best friend as a teen ultimately ended up making him a father—though he didn’t learn he had a son until a decade later. “I was gay when I was 14, but I had a girl best friend named Stephanie, and we decided—being young and fast—we gonna lose our virginity together,” he recalled on the March 26 episode of The Jennifer Hudson Show. "Well, she wanted to lose her virginity, and I was like, ‘OK.’" The 45-year-old continued. “I said after that, ‘Girl, it’s never happening again. No shade.’ But I was like, ‘I know my path.’ And she moved away.” As it turned out, Karamo and Stephanie conceived a son during that encounter, though he had no idea since they lost contact after her move. Karamo only found out when he was 25, when he "got a stack of papers for back child support for a 9-year-old. “Apparently, she had been pregnant from that one moment, and then had the child," he explained. “When she opened the door, she started crying and she was like, ‘I never told you, because I wanted one of us to have a good life.’” However, Karamo loved being a dad so much that he eventually asked for full custody of Jason, now 29. And though the culture expert—who adopted Jason’s half-brother, Christian, 26, a year later—was bummed to have missed out on so many years with his son, he ultimately had nothing but gratitude for Stephanie’s decision.
