Sarah J. Maas, the author of ‘A Court of Thorns and Roses’ series, shared why she is releasing the sixth and seventh books within only three months of each other after fans previously had to wait years. The new ‘ACOTAR’ novels will be published in quick succession, the sixth coming in October 2026 and the seventh in January 2027. “The story that was finally ready to come out of me was big,” she explained during a March 4 appearance on ‘Call Her Daddy.’ “Really, really, really big. And as I started writing this in like a Montana energy vortex, it came out of me in a way that surprised me.” And while fans are floored by the exciting news—marking a major departure from the normal wait time between books—Sarah admitted it wasn’t just as a gift to her readers: There was physically no other way to do it.
