Donald Trump signed an executive order declaring his plan to sell TikTok’s U.S. operations legal. Trump claims that Chinese President Xi Jinping has approved the deal for TikTok’s Chinese parent company, ByteDance, to relinquish control in the United States. US Vice President JD Vance says the sale would value the new, majority American-owned company at $14 billion — considerably less than many analysts were expecting.
