Trump blames ‘nonexistent’ Biden-Harris management for emboldening Iran to assault Israel

Donald Trump on Wednesday said the Iranian missile strike against Israel had pushed the world closer to a “global catastrophe” and exposed the lack of leadership from the Biden-Harris administration.

Mr. Trump said that when he was president, “Iran was in total check,” but the “whole world is unraveling” under President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.

He blamed them for emboldened foes around the globe, including the Islamic Republic and its proxies.

“Iran launched 181 ballistic missiles at Israel, and I have been talking about World War III for a long time,” the Republican presidential nominee said shortly after taking the stage at a campaign stop in Wisconsin. “I don’t want to make predictions because the predictions always come true … but they are very close to global catastrophe.

“We have a nonexistent president and a nonexistent vice president, who should be in charge, but nobody knows what is going on. … No one is in charge of our country,” he said.

Mr. Trump said Ms. Harris has been more focused on raising money for her presidential campaign than addressing the tensions in the Middle East.

“Iran wants Kamala Harris to be president,” Mr. Trump said before warning the “world will go up in smoke” if the Democrat wins.

“If I win, we will have peace in the world again,” he said.

Iran launched the missiles into Israel in response to the Israeli military killing of Hamas and Hezbollah leaders.

Mr. Trump said the attack would have “never happened” if he was calling the shots.

“These people are grossly incompetent, and now we have them potentially in charge of World War III,” he said.
