How Israel’s media crackdown is obstructing data from leaving Gaza | DW News
For years, Israel has been trying to direct the media coverage of its relations with the Palestinian territories.
However, the ability of Palestinian and foreign journalists to report on-the-ground has only gotten worse since the October 7 Hamas terror attacks sparked Israel’s war in Gaza.
Press corps in Gaza have been eliminated, offices closed and journalists targeted. Israel now only lets foreign journalists into the Gaza strip on controlled media tours, claiming safety concerns.
Journalists are experiencing unprecedented levels of violence, not only in Israel and the Palestinian territories, but also in reporting in Lebanon, where both Hezbollah and Israel are keen to control the media narrative.
