The Palestinian militants who raided Israel within the Hamas-led assaults on Oct. 7, killing round 1,200 folks, kidnapped over 240 civilians and troopers and introduced them again to the Gaza Strip. Israel responded with a navy marketing campaign it stated was aimed toward destroying Hamas and recovering the hostages. Hamas launched dozens of the hostages below a weeklong sequence of short-term cease-fire agreements that ended on Dec. 1.
