Joseph Duggar was in solitary confinement for 10 days. After the ’19 Kids and Counting’ alum was arrested in Tontitown, Ark., March 18 for allegedly molesting a 9-year-old during a 2020 family vacation in Florida, he was housed separately from other inmates “for his own safety,” according to jail records obtained by E! News from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office. “Due to Duggar’s social status and the media presence that is surrounding his case,” an officer wrote in a March 19 incident report, “I am placing Duggar on Administrative segregation in HC-4 for 7 days for his own safety.” His separation was extended until his March 27 extradition to Florida, with officers continuing to cite his safety as the reason, per the records. Joseph pleaded not guilty to lewd and lascivious behavior involving unlawful sexual activity with a minor at a Florida court on March 30. He was released on a $600,000 bond following his plea, with a judge barring him from having any contact with his alleged victim or any unsupervised contact with any minors, including his and wife Kendra Duggar’s four children.
