It’s always sunny for Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman, even after their separation. Nine years after the It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia star and the Cheers alum broke up, he admitted that despite their new chapter, they have no plans to legally end their marriage. After all, they not only talk to each other every day, but they also gather for meals together. “We’re always over at her house,” DeVito, dad to Lucy, 43, Grace, 41, and Jacob, 38, with Perlman, told AARP: The Magazine in an interview published July 29. “We see the grandchildren together, that kind of stuff.” The Batman Returns star went on to explain how his continuing connection with Perlman is an example of how important it is to have “reliable people in our lives who we can talk to.” The former couple met in 1971 after Perlman saw DeVito act in a play, and according to the Matilda director, they bonded over their love of theater and film. DeVito and Perlman married in 1982. Six years after their separation, Perlman spoke with Julia Louis-Dreyfus on her Wiser Than Me podcast about the struggles that arose following her breakup with DeVito.
