Danes go to the polls on Tuesday to choose a new parliament, which will determine whether they keep Mette Frederiksen as prime minister for a third term or hand over power to one of her rivals. Frederiksen herself called the snap election, hoping public support of her leadership during the time US President Donald Trump was threatening to take over Greenland will carry her Social Democrats to victory. After the difficulties of dealing with the US president’s desire to take over Greenland, Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen is hoping her no-nonsense rejection of his aggressive tactics translates into support at the ballot box. Teri Schultz is in Copenhagen tracking the vote that’s expected to split the 179 parliamentary seats between conservative and liberal parties.
