What “Golden” Singer EJAE Wanted to Say at Oscars 2026 Before Mic Cut | E! News

After EJAE’s Best Original Song acceptance speech was cut short at the 2026 Oscars, the singer behind Kpop Demon Hunters’ “Golden” revealed how she really wanted to conclude her remarks. “I didn’t get to because they just cut us off but I wanted to thank Rei Ami and Audrey Nuna,” EJAE told reporters of her ‘Kpop Demon Hunters’ bandmates after the win at the March 15 event. “They killed it with their singing and they’re just incredible people and I love them so much.” A sequel for Netflix’s international hit was greenlit March 12 with directors Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans returning, following the first film’s massive success in June 2025. The sequel will focus on expanding the world and exploring the characters’ (Rumi, Mira and Zoey) backgrounds further.
