The UK has delayed parts of its new sanctions package on Russian oil to shield consumers from soaring fuel prices linked to the closure of the Strait of Hormuz.
Keir Starmer insisted the move was “not a question of lifting existing sanctions in any way whatsoever” but part of a phased approach to tougher measures against Russia.
