US President Donald Trump is urging Iran to agree to a peace deal as talks stall. Reports say Washington is preparing a prolonged blockade of Iranian ports, escalating pressure after months of conflict that have already disrupted vital shipping through the Strait of Hormuz.
DW asked Ali Fathollah‑Nejad, director of the Center for Middle East and Global Order, whether such a blockade would actually help the US achieve its goals.
