The global state of democracy is the topic of a joint debate organised by Parliament’s subcommittee on human rights and the special committee on the European democracy shield.
The meeting will start with the presentation of the study "EU strategy to face narratives against democracy". It will be followed by a debate with the International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (International IDEA) about the challenges the EU is dealing with in its work outside Europe due to the current threats to democracy.
