The Russian oil pipeline blocking assist to Ukraine | DW News

The European Union has offered to pay for repairs to a damaged pipeline that carries Russian oil to Hungary. The move is aimed at persuading Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán to lift his veto on new Ukraine funding and additional sanctions against Moscow.

In January, Russian oil deliveries to Hungary and Slovakia were halted after Ukraine reported that the Druzhba pipeline—running through its territory—had been damaged in a Russian drone strike. Covering the repair costs could help Brussels secure unity on future Ukraine support and increase pressure on Russia.
