The man suspected of carrying out yesterday’s terror attack in Berlin has been shot dead by police. The city’s interior minister confirmed that a major operation took place in the western suburb of Spandau. Police said officers opened fire after the suspect charged at them with a bladed weapon when his hideout was discovered in a community garden. Germany’s interior minister described the attack on the capital’s Pride celebrations as an act of Islamist terrorism. One person was killed, and 29 others were injured.
