A Secret Service agent assigned to former first lady Jill Biden is recovering after an accidental shooting at Philadelphia International Airport. Secret Service spokesperson Nate Herring told MS NOW in a statement that the incident occurred around 8:30 a.m. on March 27 when the agent’s firearm discharged due to what officials described as a “negligent discharge.” Biden, 74, was not in the area at the time of the shooting. According to a Philadelphia Police Department statement obtained by MS NOW, the agent was on duty and inside an unmarked vehicle at the time. The agent was taken to the Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, where he was listed in stable condition, per police. Authorities said there was no disruption to either Biden’s schedule or to airport operations. No one else was injured in the incident.
