Pushing for an EU-wide definition of r@pe

When it comes to sexual consent:

❌ silence is not consent
❌ giving in to pressure is not consent
❌ being a romantic partner or spouse is not consent
❌ past relationships are not consent
❌ lack of resistance is not consent

The list goes on.

Sexual violence in the EU in 2023 (Eurostat):

📊 91K+ reported r@pe cases
📉 243K+ reported sexual violence cases

A separate EU survey on violence against women shows that only 14% of women surveyed who experienced sexual violence reported it to the police.

In many EU countries, r@pe is still defined by violence or resistance, leaving many victims unrecognised and unprotected.

Parliament is once again pushing for an EU-wide definition of r@pe centred on the absence of consent.

This is only part of the picture. See what else Parliament wants to change to better protect r@pe victims from the link in bio.
