Parliament discusses the scenario on the Spain-Morocco border

The European Parliament’s committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs (LIBE) discusses the situation in Spanish North African exclave Ceuta. At the end of July 2026, tens of thousands of migrants crossed the border from Morocco to Ceuta. The majority have since returned.

Members assess the situation with Spanish Minister of the Interior Fernando Grande-Marlaska (tbc), Spanish Minister of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration Elma Saiz Delgado (tbc), European Commissioner for Internal Affairs and Migration Magnus Brunner, and Mayor-President of Ceuta Juan Jesús Vivas Lara.
