According to state run television in Nepal, 14 people are dead and dozens more injured after police opened fire on mass demonstrations against a sweeping government ban on social media. Tens of thousands of mostly young protesters rallied on the streets of Kathmandu against the move to block several platforms including Facebook, X, and YouTube.
