Mariska Hargitay was tapped as the host for the 2026 Emmys, airing on NBC and Peacock Sept. 14. The ‘Law & Order: SVU’ star is the first woman to take on the role in 15 years, following Jane Lynch. The television icon—who won the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series at the 2006 ceremony for her role as Olivia Benson—said in the announcement, "Bringing important stories into the light has been the heartbeat of my career. It’s my great honor to host the 78th Emmy Awards—in the 100th birthday year of my beloved NBC—and celebrate this extraordinary community of storytellers."
