Lily Collins commemorated Eating Disorder Awareness Week by detailing her experience publicly sharing her struggle with an eating disorder. “As someone who has struggled with an eating disorder—and was able to tell the story of so many others like me through my character in To The Bone—I’ve always advocated for more awareness and understanding surrounding eating disorders,” the ‘Emily in Paris’ star wrote in a since-expired Instagram Story on Feb. 26, which was captured by People, “so no one has to struggle in silence or shame.” The 36-year-old—who played a woman seeking treatment for anorexia in the 2017 drama ‘To The Bone’—went on to highlight the National Eating Disorders Association (NEDA) for doing “lifesaving work.” She then explained how coming forward with her story had not only been beneficial to her, but also to others in similar situations. “Speaking out and opening up about my history with eating disorders was and is one of the most terrifying but rewarding experiences of my life,” she added. "If every time I share my story it helps even one person on their recovery journey, it is beyond worth it.” Full Story: https://www.eonline.com/news/1429211/lily-collins-on-sharing-eating-disorder-struggles
