Israel kills one other prime Hezbollah commander amid fears of all-out struggle in Lebanon | DW News

The Israeli army says it has carried out a drone strike to kill another senior Hezbollah commander, this time in southern Lebanon.

The Israeli military confirmed that it had "eliminated" Mohammed Naameh Nasser, saying he had been "the commander of the Hezbollah terrorist organization’s Aziz Unit which is responsible for firing from southwestern Lebanon at Israeli territory."

Hezbollah responded by firing scores of rockets at targets in northern Israel later in the day.

Israel and Hezbollah have been exchanging fire over the border for months. The Iran-backed militia and political movement says it is acting in solidarity with the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
