For World Immunization Week, DW’s Janelle Dumalaon meets those fighting the battle over who Americans trust with their children’s health.
We speak with Eric Feigl-Ding, an epidemiologist and health economist known for his work on global health risks, including his efforts to inform the public during the pandemic. We ask him whether America’s war on vaccines is putting the rest of the world at risk.
Additionally, we ask William Schaffner, Professor of Preventive Medicine & Health Policy and Professor in the Division of Infectious Diseases at Vanderbilt University Medical Centre, about the science behind vaccines and the prerequisites for their effectiveness against influenza and other infectious diseases.
