US Vice President JD Vance hit back at Israeli cabinet members who have criticized Donald Trump’s interim peace deal with Iran.
The so-called memorandum of understanding, signed by the US president on Wednesday, has been widely panned in Israel, which joined Washington in the war against Iran that started in February.
Many Israelis, including some members of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government, believe it gives too many financial concessions to the Islamic Republic and doesn’t do anything to curb its ballistic missile program. They also reject a part of the text declaring a permanent ceasefire in Lebanon, where Israel is fighting Iran-backed Hezbollah militants.
