Iran has warned of a “much more devastating” retaliation after Donald Trump threatened to target civilian infrastructures if Tehran doesn’t reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
Trump told Iran to “open the f***in’ Strait” or face “living in hell” in an extraordinary swear-laden rant on Sunday. “Tuesday will be Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day, all wrapped up in one, in Iran,” the president wrote. “There will be nothing like it.”Trump followed that message with a cryptic post that appeared to set a deadline for his threats, reading simply: “Tuesday, 8pm Eastern Time!”
The Iranian military responded with a statement warning that “if attacks on civilian targets are repeated, the next stages of our offensive and retaliatory operations will be much more devastating and widespread.”
The Iranian parliament’s speaker told Trump that “the only real solution is respecting the rights of the Iranian people and ending this dangerous game”.US Central Command said strikes on Iran continue. Earlier, Trump and the Pentagon confirmed that a US airman stranded in Iran after his jet was downed had been rescued alive.
Israeli strikes in southern Iran kill 9
At least nine people were killed in overnight strikes across Iran, the state-run IRAN newspaper reported.
Airstrikes were reported on Ahvaz, Bandar Lengeh, Karaj and Shiraz regions.
Ghanaian national injured in UAE
A Ghanaian national has sustained injuries in Abu Dhabi from falling shrapnel, the city’s media office said.
It said the incident took place at the Rinn Systems Company in Musaffah following a successful interception by air defences.
Oil prices climb above $110 a barrel
Oil prices climbed today on continuing fears of supply losses because of the US-Israeli war with Iran.
Brent crude futures rose $1.71, or 1.6 per cent, to $110.74 a barrel.
US West Texas Intermediate crude futures gained $0.71, or 0.6 per cent, to trade at $112.25 per barrel.

Iran’s military has warned of a “much more devastating” retaliation if Donald Trump follows through on his threat to target the country’s bridges and power plants.
“If attacks on civilian targets are repeated, the next stages of our offensive and retaliatory operations will be much more devastating and widespread,” said a spokesperson for the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, the operational command of the Iranian armed forces.
This warning comes after Trump threatened to destroy Iran’s civilian infrastructure in an extraordinary swear-laden rant on Truth Social.
“Tuesday will be Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day, all wrapped up in one, in Iran,” Trump said.
“There will be nothing like it!!! Open the F***** Strait, you crazy ba******, or you’ll be living in Hell – JUST WATCH!”
Two bodies found in Haifa after airstrikes
Two people were found dead under rubble due to an Iranian missile strike on a residential building in Israel’s northern city of Haifa, Israel’s fire and rescue authority said today.
The rescue mission, which started last evening, was still ongoing this morning as two other people remain under the rubble.
Paramedics said they rushed to the scene and searched through the rubble to dig out the injured, finding an older man in serious condition.
They added that three other people, including a baby, were slightly injured.
Trump moves to reassure Iranian peace negotiators over assassination fears
Donald Trump’s claim that Iranian negotiators have been given “immunity from death” comes after earlier reports suggested officials in Tehran feared peace talks were a trap to assassinate the Islamic Republic’s leaders.
The Iranian side believed that face-to-face talks could be a ploy to lure influential parliamentary speaker Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf into the open, the Wall Street Journal reported last month.
Ghalibaf, a former paramilitary commander and among the few senior Iranian figures to have survived the airstrikes, is being sought by the US to participate in potential peace talks.
Last week, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said high-ranking Iranian officials were killed because they “strung” Trump’s administration along in talks that would put an end to fighting in the Middle East.
However, Trump told Fox News over the weekend that his administration had “told the people that we’re dealing with, who are the top people,” that they have been granted immunity.
Another Iranian Red Crescent volunteer killed
The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies said another Iranian volunteer was killed in the airstrikes on Saturday.
Abolfazl Dahanavi, 20, was killed on Saturday in Isfahan Province due to an airstrike while carrying out humanitarian activities, the group said.
He was the fourth Iranian Red Crescent volunteer killed in the line of duty since the conflict began on 28 February 2026, it added.
“This is unjustifiable. We have mourned before. We have called for protection before. We are calling again – with greater urgency and outrage: the killing of humanitarian personnel must stop,” the group said in a statement.
Airstrikes hit Tehran university linked to weapons work
Airstrikes early this morning on Iran’s capital, Tehran, targeted the Sharif University of Technology.
Iranian media reported the strikes and damage to buildings there, as well as a natural gas distribution site next to the campus.
It wasn’t immediately clear what had been targeted on the grounds of the university, which is empty of students as the war has forced all schools in the country into online classes.
However, multiple countries over the years have sanctioned the university for its work with the military, particularly on Iran’s ballistic missile program, which is controlled by the country’s paramilitary Revolutionary Guard.
Red Crescent says another ambulance struck in Iran
The Iranian Red Crescent Society reported on Sunday that one of its ambulances was hit in an airstrike while providing emergency relief in Sepidan County, Fars Province.
Images published by the group on social media appear to show a badly damaged white vehicle.
At least 46 ambulances belonging to to the group and other emergency responders have been damaged during the war, according to the grou. At least four air workers have been killed, the group reported.
Trump says Iranian negotiators have ‘immunity from death’
Donald Trump has now claimed that Iranian negotiators have been given “immunity from death”.
“And we’ve told the people that we’re dealing with, who are the top people,” he told Fox News.
Trump contended that the Iranians had already conceded on having a nuclear weapon. “They’re not even negotiating that point, it’s so easy,” he said.
“That’s already been conceded. Most of the points are conceded.”
Last week, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said high-ranking Iranian officials were killed because they “strung” Trump’s administration along in talks that would put an end to fighting in the Middle East.
“…some of the previous leaders, who are now no longer on planet Earth because they lied to the United States and they strung us along in negotiations, and that was unacceptable to the president, which is why many of the previous leaders were killed,” she told reporters.
