Iran battle enters perilous new section, with extra US troops lifeless | DW News

Middle East analyst Robin Wright warns the Iran war is only getting more complicated, with diplomacy having failed. The US military has announced its first troop deaths from direct Iranian fire since the first days of the war, with two killed and another missing in an attack on a base in Jordan. Just before the announcement, Tehran warned of "unforgettable lessons" if the United States kept attacking the Islamic regime. Talking to DW’s Ben Fajzullin, Wright – a long-time contributor to The New Yorker – says US President Donald Trump will pay a price at the midterm elections in November, if he does not see a way out of the war by September.
