The season three premiere of Euphoria included tributes to actors Eric Dane and Angus Cloud, as well as executive producer Kevin Turen, all of whom died within the past few years. Eric was diagnosed with ALS less than a year before filming began on the third season. But to ensure the actor could still be included as Cal Jacobs (dad to Jacob Elordi’s Nate Jacobs), show creator Sam Levinson collaborated with Eric to work around the symptoms of his disease and shot his scenes in just one day. As for Angus—who died of an accidental drug overdose in 2023 at the age of 25—Sam kept the character Fezco alive on the HBO drama, with Rue (Zendaya) telling Fez’s former love interest Lexi (Maude Apatow) in the season premiere that the troubled drug dealer is alive but incarcerated, serving a 30-year sentence.
