Just days after the FCAS fighter project collapsed, a new alternative is already taking shape. A consortium led by Airbus has unveiled “Team Gen 6”, a proposal for a next‑generation combat jet backed by eight major defense companies. The plan has been submitted to the German government but has not yet been approved – leaving Berlin with key decisions ahead as it weighs how to build its future air power, and whether it can do so without France.
