In a debate with the European Commission and Council, MEPs outline their expectations for the upcoming EU-China summit, set to take place in China in July. This summit will mark 50 years of bilateral diplomatic relations.
The debate also addresses how to tackle China’s export restrictions on critical raw materials. China recently adopted export controls on rare earth metals, including gallium, germanium and graphite. European industry relies on Chinese supplies for these materials, which are essential for key technologies, such as electromobility and energy from renewable sources.
