Beijing has just held a half-marathon with a difference – with human runners left standing by a record-breaking robot. Humans and humanoids ran in separate lanes to avoid accidents or collisions. The winner, the aptly named Lightning, put in an astonishing performance. DW spoke with Ravinder Dahiya, a professor of electrical and computer engineering at Northeastern University in Boston, and also a specialist in robotic touch sensing.
