US and Iranian representatives will meet today in a last-ditch attempt to strike a deal to avert a war. The US insists that the talks cover Iran’s nuclear program as well as ballistic missiles and its support for proxy groups. But Iran says it will only talk about its nuclear program – which it already agreed to curb over a decade ago, before the US pulled out of a deal.
