The Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback—who previously announced his retirement following the 2025-2026 season—explained how his wife Brittani influenced his decision to play under his former Green Bay Packers coach Mike McCarthy for his 22nd and final year in the league. "I thought last year might be it, and then Mike got hired," Rodgers told reporters during a July 28 press conference, before adding, "I talked to the wife. She said, ‘You can do one more year and see if it works out.’ And then it kind of all came together." But the Super Bowl winner’s stated choice to hang up his jersey didn’t have everyone convinced.
